Abstract

The Ionizing Radiation Metrology Laboratory of SNSU-BSN participated in an international intercomparison activity for the quantity of air kerma from narrow-spectrum protection-level X-ray beam quality N-60 and N-80, as part of quality assurance efforts and preparation for expanding service scope. The measurements were conducted using X-ray beams based on the IAEA SRS-16 standard for N-60 and N-80 beam qualities, in accordance with ISO 4037, and under irradiation conditions specified by the intercomparison protocol from OAP (Office of Atoms for Peace, Thailand). The air kerma rate values obtained from the experiments were used to determine the irradiation duration for the intercomparison OSLDs. The results showed a good agreement with the reference values. The relative deviations are within the z-score tolerance limit of 2, specifically a z-score of 0.225 for N-60 and 1.251 for N-80. Both irradiation doses fall within the estimated uncertainty range of 2 mGy. These results support the laboratory’s technical competence in radiation protection measurements and serve as a basis for expanding the calibration service scope.
